The Business Area Gas, Energy and Nuclear (BA GEN) of Tractebel seeks, for its Business Stream Flexible, Renewables, Industry and SMR (BS FRIS) (m/f) an:
“SMR PROJECT MANAGER”

THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The Business Stream FRIS is responsible for all the projects related to flexible power solutions, thermal power plants, battery energy storage, renewables, industry decarbonization and nuclear Small Modular Reactors (SMR).
Within the Business Stream, the “SMR” Product manages projects related to nuclear Small Modular Reactors and ranging from economical studies and pre-feasibility studies to final commissioning of the installations, including feasibility, design, procurement manufacturing and on-site realization activities.These projects are sold to clients who may be SMR design developers (vendors), industrial energy off-takers, governments, utilities or other parties or partners worldwide and mainly in Europe and the UK.
Within the Product team (project management team), you are responsible for a portfolio of SMR projects as the Project Manager.

YOUR JOB

• With your colleagues, you help define the strategy and you make tactical decisions;
• You support the BA’s business development (BD) team in BD activities related to the SMR Product;
• You support the commercial team of BS FRIS as the technical responsible for the bids. In collaboration with the experts from our Metiers (Competence Centers), you define the scope, the related tasks and you determine the time schedule and budgets;
• You build, lead and empower your project team. Typical teams count, depending on the scope, an Engineering Manager, a Safety Officer, discipline Lead Engineers, Subject Matter Experts, a Scheduler set at the disposal of the project by the BA’s Metiers and Support teams (matrix organization);
• You manage the execution of the projects on a day-to-day basis.  You act as the CEO of your projects, managing internal and external interfaces. You ensure the projects are delivered in due time, budget and quality. You ensure the scope boundaries are respected and you inform the client about changes. You monitor risks related to your projects and propose mitigating measures. You are responsible for the profitability of your projects;
• You take care of the technical, contractual and commercial contacts with the clients and partners, if any, and you define commercial actions when appropriate;
• You organize meetings with the client and support the client, as a partner, in delivering Tractebel’s added value to the projects;
• You take care of internal contacts with the support departments (legal, finance, IT, risk management, communication, …);
• You ensure the relevant administrative tasks with respect of the procedures with the support of t project assistants and the Product Support Office;
• You report to the SMR Product Manager, who head the SMR Product team and reports to the Head of BS FRIS.

YOUR PROFILE

• You have a Master in engineering;
• You have 3 to 8 years (or more) of professional experience in the nuclear sector, and you have knowledge of the processes of engineering;
• You are passionate about new nuclear and the internation nuclear market;
• Experience with NPPs is an strong asset;
• You are fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch or French is an asset;
• You are result oriented, you have a strong customer focus, you are a team player in a changing environment;
• You are dynamic, flexible, resistant to stress, rigorous;
• You will be located in the Brussels HQ with frequent visits outside Belgium;
• Habilitation to access nuclear sites may be requested.
