Fire Safety Engineer

Mission

• You perform feasibility, design and modification studies related to internal fire, explosion and flooding protection systems.
• You carry out fire, explosion and flooding risk analyses in compliance with applicable regulations, standards and methodologies.
• You perform calculations, simulations and modelling related to fire and smoke propagation, ventilation, evacuation and fire protection systems.
• You define and recommend technical solutions adapted to the project and client constraints.
• You ensure consistency between the required fire protection/detection measures and the existing on-site installations.
• You coordinate interfaces and ensure efficient communication between all project stakeholders.
• You support the follow-up of Fire Safety equipment, including technical specifications, procurement, contract management, commissioning and maintenance activities.
• You support Project Managers and Clients during technical meetings with Safety Authorities and coach junior engineers or subcontractors when required.

Profile

• You hold a Civil Engineering degree or an Engineering School diploma, ideally in Mechanical, Nuclear or Fire Safety Engineering.
• You have knowledge of thermo-hydraulics, fluid and solid mechanics, and fire-related physical phenomena.
• You have experience in fire engineering, risk analysis, fire simulations or fire protection system design.
• You are able to perform technical studies, simulations and analyses autonomously.
• You have strong writing skills and are comfortable drafting technical reports and synthesis documents.
• You communicate fluently in French and English; Dutch is considered an asset.
• You are proactive, rigorous, autonomous and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment.
• You are comfortable with computer tools and ideally have experience in industrial or nuclear environments.
