Medior design engineer

Mission 

• You actively contribute to the execution of our marine and civil infrastructure projects.
• You lead the design and calculation of steel structures from the concept phase to execution.
• You size steel structures according to current Belgian and European standards, legislation, and internal guidelines.
• You creatively seek structural solutions for specific challenges while considering design and budget constraints.
• You are part of a multidisciplinary project team of engineers and draftsmen, focusing on marine and civil infrastructure projects.
• You prepare designs (preliminary, basic, tender, detailed) for marine and infrastructure projects such as lock doors, jetties, gate valves, flood protection structures, and bridges.
• You act as the project’s design engineer, coordinating and mentoring junior engineers and CAD designers.
• You develop and share technical knowledge, staying updated with new standards and techniques, and ensure proper drafting work with CAD designers.

Profile 

• You hold a Master of Science in Structural Engineering, with a focus on ‘Construction Design,’ ‘Dredging and Off-Shore Engineering,’ or ‘Marine Engineering.’
• You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in the design and engineering of steel structures for infrastructure projects like bridges, port infrastructure, lock doors, and large civil works.
• You are fluent in English and Dutch
• You are experienced in designing steel elements within complex 3D structures and understand applicable construction techniques.
• You are quality-driven, customer-focused, and a strong team player with knowledge of Belgian and European design standards.
