HSE Lead (Data Center)
As a HSE Lead, you’ll join a high-performing, culturally diverse team delivering one of Europe’s most ambitious data centre builds. You’ll play a pivotal role on a large-scale, high-voltage construction project where safety is paramount — your expertise will directly influence the success, integrity, and safety of the build. You’ll thrive in a collaborative and empowering environment where you’re supported to take ownership of your role, grow your career, and make a lasting impact.
Mission
- You lead the identification and management of high-risk activities across all project phases, collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure proactive safety planning and coordination.
- You champion the implementation and continuous improvement of risk control measures, ensuring they are effective, monitored, and embedded in daily operations.
- You develop and maintain robust reporting and communication structures to provide clear visibility of HSE performance across the project.
- You evaluate the effectiveness of site-level HSE planning through active engagement with contractors, workers, and supervisors.
- You are a visible and proactive safety leader onsite — conducting audits, mentoring teams, and driving a culture of safety excellence.
- You design and implement the project’s safety strategy and procedures, ensuring alignment and buy-in from all project partners.
- You conduct independent audits across all construction activities, identifying gaps and driving corrective actions.
- You ensure contractors establish and maintain outstanding safety practices and procedures, aligned with project and regulatory standards.
- You maintain and enhance health and safety management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Profile
- You have a minimum of 5 years’ construction safety management experience, including HSE team management, ideally within data centre, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, or high-voltage infrastructure sectors.
- You hold 30 Hour training or a local equivalent in Construction Industry Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA).
- You have completed management training and incident investigation training.
- You demonstrate a strong track record in contractor management and stakeholder engagement, including collaboration with design teams and project professionals.
- You possess a deep understanding of European HSE regulations and standards, with the ability to apply them in complex, fast-paced environments.
- You communicate effectively — verbally and in writing — and can influence and lead across diverse teams.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools.
- You bring a collaborative mindset and a passion for building strong relationships through openness, purpose, and shared achievement.
